Correspondence written to Edouard Champion, dating 1901-1902, related to the publication of Le tombeau de Louis Ménard, a collection of remembrances about Ménard from various members of the scholarly and literary circles he frequented. The approximately 93 autograph letters and signed calling cards collected here were written by many of the contributors to Le tombeau, as well as others wishing to share their opinions of Ménard as well as their appreciation of Champion's book. In addition to the items bound and collected in this volume, Champion bound additional correspondence with his copy of Le tombeau.
